wonderful words

For anyone who bemoans the lack of artistry in the English language, here is an evolving list of words that paint a 1000 pictures.

Breath n.the air that goes into and out of your lungs. One of the most sensual and expressive words. It conveys so much life.

Trollop n. - a woman who has had a lot of sexual relationships without any emotional involvement. I just think it’s a lot of fun to say. Rolls off the tongue.

Officious adj. - too eager to tell people what to do and having too high an opinion of your own importance. We all know people like this.

Inebriated adj. - having drunk too much alcohol. Such a civilized way to refer to overindulgence.

Saucy adj. - impertinent in an entertaining way; impossible to repress or control. Old-fashioned, but I’m determined to repopularize it. I have friends who should wear this on a name badge.

Bespoke adj. – (especially of clothing) made to an individual’s specifications. Implies great care, quality and tradition.

Idyllic adj. - pleasing or picturesque in natural simplicity. Because we all need to simplify.

Lush n. – one who becomes inebriated after a few drinks and turns into a trollop. It also means abundant and luxurious but that’s not as much fun.

Voluptuous adj. – full of delight or pleasure to the senses: arising from sensuous or sensual gratification. Like voluptuous wine of course.

Run v. – to go steadily by springing steps so that both feet leave the ground for an instant in each step. Because I’m thankful I can, although I’m not as graceful as this sounds.

Sundries n. – miscellaneous objects too numerous or too small to be specified. Does that mean I have too much stuff?

Vex tr. v. – to irritate or annoy by petty provocation. I have vexed D a great many times. Usually when inebriated.

Audacious adj. – extremely bold or daring; recklessly brave; fearless. This is how I want to live. Always.

Dodgy adj. – risky, difficult, or dangerous. I love this word. It so perfectly sums up situations, people, and places. Warning: I use this in random conversations. A lot.

  1. Audacious is one of my favorite words EVER. One of my life goals is to be called audacious. I have simple goals, obviously.
